I found myself recently scrolling through my phone. It was mindless scrolling at its best. I was feeling distracted, overwhelmed & frustrated with a situation & where did I turn? … to my phone & to social media. I’m not sure if I was looking for answers or looking for a chance to zone out. Whatever the reason, i was not finding any peace & solace whatsoever. And that’s what I desperately needed. 

The lines of two hymns come to mind … “Oh what peace we often forfeit, oh what needless pain we bare. All bc we do not carry, everything to God in prayer.” 

“Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory & grace.” 

Simple, but profound & life changing words. How refreshing that the things of earth will grow strangely dim when our eyes are fully on Jesus. The things that distract and stress? We won’t see them. His truth that gives wisdom & peace? We’ll recognize it. That’s exactly how He invites us to walk with Him each day! Let’s not forfeit or exchange that precious gift.
